Meet Dr. Zeiderman
Gold Country kid, Cal grad, Eagle Scout, Giants fan, husband, and girl dad. Meet the person behind the white coat.
Raised in the Gold Country
I was raised in the Gold Country foothills of Amador County, first known for its gold mines and now for its Zinfandel and Barbera. I earned my Eagle Scout at 16 and spent most of my youth outdoors camping, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, and helping maintain our family property.
At UC Berkeley, I balanced academics with Greek life and spent two years conducting research in bioengineering and molecular and cell biology. I graduated with honors and also received the unique distinction of a national House Manager of the Year award through my fraternity.
I entered medical school interested in both plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery. I ultimately chose plastic surgery because of the breadth and complexity of the field and the diverse range of patients it allows me to help. I still enjoy having a broad practice and caring for people from all walks of life, each with their own problems, needs, and goals.
- Eagle Scout at age 16
- UC Berkeley honors graduate
- Two years of undergraduate research
- Former student landscaping business owner
- Baseball junkie and avid Giants fan
- Still enjoys a good prank or bit of shenanigans
I still enjoy having a broad practice, helping patients from all walks of life with unique problems and needs.
Kate, Two Girls, and Apollo
Most of my spare time is spent with my wife Kate and our two daughters. When I am free, I still enjoy outdoor adventures in the mountains, skiing, playing golf, running, and, of course, pranks and shenanigans. Our black lab, Apollo, is usually somewhere nearby.
How Well Do You Know Dr. Zeiderman?
Six questions about life beyond the operating room. Take your best guess.
Sixteen. He spent much of his youth outdoors camping, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, and helping maintain his family’s property.
The Amador County foothills. Gold Country, first known for its mines and now for its Zinfandel and Barbera.
A 1996 Dodge Ram. His first vehicle was burly, reliable, and attached to plenty of good memories. We can ignore the fuel mileage.
National House Manager of the Year. He received the honor through his fraternity while balancing Greek life, academics, and two years of undergraduate research.
Run a marathon. A half Ironman may come next, if he can muster it.
A black lab. And, according to Dr. Zeiderman, such a good boy.
Getting to Know Dr. Zeiderman
Baseball. He is a baseball junkie and an avid San Francisco Giants fan.
Jurassic Park. He wanted to be a paleontologist as a kid, and the fascination with dinosaurs never wore off. It is now shared by one of his daughters. He firmly believes Michael Crichton could do no wrong.
Positively changing patients’ lives and helping educate the next generation of plastic surgeons.
